Firstly please for forgive me for yet ANOTHER article about GTAIV but with only a day left, it seems obvious why there's such an influx of these...

This time I'm bringing two pieces of news. Firstly that you can actually activate cheats via your Mobile Phone by phoning certain numbers... and secondly that phoning these numbers can block Achievements stopping you from getting the full Gamerscore...

Could the same be true for the Playstation 3 Entitlements?

Oh and I've added a screenshot below giving you proof that cheats DO stop you from getting certain Achievements.

    This is news?

I can't think of any game that doesn't disable the earning of achievements when cheats are activated.

This is GTA afterall, and take a look at the image I posted below the article, it's taken from a Live Stream, and it appeared the moment someone entered the cheat.

In GRAW 1, you should use the infinite ammo and invincibility cheat (at least I think there is an invincibility cheat) and still get the achievements.

Thanks for the capture Krunal. At least this Grand Theft Auto IV informs you of the achievements you're missing out on!

As far as I know, no Xbox 360 game allows for achievements to be unlocked with cheats activated.

This is slightly different, other games Saints Row for example blanket disables every achievement, GTA IV only blocks certain ones so instead of it being a case of you get no achievements, you can still get achievements for things that will not be affected by your cheats, e.g. winning 10 games of pool or getting 180 points 5 times in darts...

What happens I wonder, if say, you unlock ALL the achievements, and THEN you use cheats...

        Nothing, they're already unlocked!

Yeh was wondering if they'd some how 'undo' the Achievement... but if that's not the case then people could just get all the achievements and then start cheating... though that is what many do... At least there is no more 'Cheating may crash the game' messages like in SA.

That sucks. I bet a lot of people would want to unlock things by using cheats, and now they can't? Weird.

Those that do still will, they just wont care about their GamerScore, but if anythings its motive for them to not use cheats.

can you not just disable the cheat to unblock it like other games do?

I assume that starting a new game would reset this ban correct? Kinda how cheaters could never get 100% in past GTA. Unless they started a new file cheat free.

Just cause I doubt I'll get all achievements in one playthrough and might cheat after I finish.

BTW- I can't load the article this links to for some reason. So I'm sorry if this is covered in there somewhere.

Your not the only one, any article i click on is extremely slow which includes thumbing people. Its the site.

Krunal thats makes no sense, its like asking what would happen after you complete the game and get 100%, if you cheat would that negate the 100%.

Also the PS3 things is called Accomplishments ad far as im aware not entitlements.

They're called Entitlements, if you don't know about them, then firstly check the PS3 Home forum, and secondly one of the threads I posted in the Gen PS3 forum which contains a list of entitlements that I was emailed by Capcom, and they clearly called it Entitlements in the email

That's a good thing, they should've brought this into all the other games so the little kids who want to cheat to make things happen for them don't work.

What about if you didn't save it after you did the cheat, 'cos it would suck if you wanted to mess around with unlimited ammo or w.e, then you couldn't unblock it.
