Ultimate Board Games will be coming out in May. The game is a board game styled game, as you can probably guess from the name. It'll have twelve games on it, chess, checkers, backgammon, naval battle, sudoku, mahjong solitaire, Chinese checkers, word cubes, quattro, gomoku, jigsaws and reversi.

There’s probably a “love ‘em or hate ‘em” crowd for virtual board games (the traditional sort we mean, not your Mario Party variety), so we don’t think Empire Interactive’s attempt at making their latest compilation ‘Ulimate’ by name will really change that very much. It’ll be shuffling onto the Nintendo Wii this May.

It’s nothing that hasn’t been done a million times before, but Wii owners will receive a total of twelve classic board games in Ultimate Board Game Collection, including chess, checkers and backgammon. The others? Well, since you asked nicely: naval battle, sudoku, mahjong solitaire, Chinese checkers, word cubes, quattro, gomoku, jigsaws and reversi.

Sweet. I'm missing a good amount of pieces for chess, checkers, chinese checkers...well most of the list there. This makes things easier, with risk of only losing the game disc.

This kind of thing should also be in Portable Systems. I can see myself playing some virtual checkers in campus before class.

I never really liked these kind of games, they get old for me pretty fast.

I might pick it up. I have a really bad habit of being addicted to Sudoku, so this might help me curb that.
If there was ever a crossword/word-find game for any system, that would just be WRONG. If those aren't played with paper and a pen, they're being violated.

"Ultimate" and "Board Games" cannot be used in a sentence together. Aren't these games downloadable on a PC? If so, I see no point in buying this. I don't think graphics play a big role when playing board games.
