You've heard of Grand Theft Auto IV locking up, but what are the reasons for this. Well, at first, it was believed only to happen on the 60GB Playstation 3, but now the Xbox 360 has the same problem. So as you know, Rockstar designed the game so that there are no load times whilst playing. However, a problem has occurred while doing so. By making there no load times, they have overloaded the cache, causing the game to freeze. So instead of providing a smooth ride while player, the game will freeze while attempting to gather information from the cache.

The solution: Rockstar needs to release a patch that limits the strain on the RAM right out of the gate. Can they even do this? Who knows? They haven’t managed to make a game that doesn’t freeze in two years. Unless you count the mega epic “Table Tennis”.

    Table Tennis FTW!

I knew something like this would happen. Of course all games are vulnerable to freezing and especially a 60 GB game! But if Rockstar does come up with some released patch, it'll probably be downloadable content which means gamers that don't use this feature will be stuck restarting their consoles over and over again.

What are you talking about a 60GB game?

Im pretty sure he means a game being 60GB like using a dual-layered BD and another standard one.

But i at first thought he mean the 60GB console.

Anyway i haven't experienced any problems while playing, so for me its nothing to worry about.

I wasn't fussed about the load times in GTA:SA so I guess they should have just stuck with that. They don't specify how long the freezes are for though.

My 360 version hasn't given me any problems at all.

I doubt this bug affects the 360 version.

All I can Say is that Microsoft And Rock star games and Sony should all work together to find a patch for this game because there all going to have some very pissed off gamers. has not happened to my 360 yet I'm praying that it wont but good luck to every one that has dodged the bullet.

I haven't had any freezing on my 80GB. I gave my 60GB to my cousin, so I should ask if he's had any issues. The only freezing I've had is when I actually quit the game. My system sometimes locks up and resets instead of going to the XMB.

What kind of an asshat would thumb down ever comment in this article?

I hate *bleep*ing morons who take every little comment as an attack against their preferred console.
