Activision will be holding a charity contest, from May 2nd to May 5th.

Activision will donate $1 for every person who signs up to the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, and $100 for 1000 points of a person's score.

Finally Activision does something selfless. From May 2 to May 5, Guitar Hero III will host a charity challenge competition (on easy, medium and hard), benefiting the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. Activision will donate $1 to the charity for every participant and $100 for every 1000 points of a challenger’s individual score. The Starlight Starbright Foundation helps sick kids and their families cope with the suffering of illness through family activities and entertainment (these are the guys who put out the celebrity-studded Tuttles Madcap Misadventures game last year).

Gamers can sign up on Guitar Hero’s official site from today until May 2 at 7:59. The competition song is Monster’s “Matchbook Romance,” and the winner of the challenge scores an all-expense paid trip for two to Southern California and a tour of Neversoft Entertainment.

That's awesome for Activision to do this. Any time when a company does something to raise money for charity is nice. I hope that they get a lot of money raised for the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation.
