Barack Obama acknowledges GTA IV in his discussions about kids and education

DragoniteBallZ | May 01, 2008 | News | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Presidential candidate Barack Obama was discussing raising kids and education and parents' involvement in their children's everyday lives. Contrary to the usual anti-immoral tone against the popular video game series from politicians, cited GTA IV as an example basically telling everyone that the government can only solve so many problems with how kids are being raised and that one of the problems being that parents are not getting involved. And that part of solving the problem is parents getting involved with their kids, by turn off the TV set and getting them to engage in more productive activities.

You tell 'em, Obama! Wait...I'm rooting for Hilary.

I agree with him, the parents need to get more involved and help the kids balance their time at least. I know I spent my days more with games than school-work in the past, but I've picked up on studying since I hit college. Still, it's better to learn balance between entertainment and studying at an earlier age...like the age not directed for GTA IV.

You obviously know nothing about Hilary Clinton to make that remark. But I don't blame you, a good amount of people against her don't know what she's about or what she's done to help some parts of this nation.

The only thing she's really attacked is GTA's franchise, most notably, the 'hot coffee' mod, saying it should be an Ao game or banned. R* always has this kind of controversy, it's nothing new.

You have no idea, do you? Really no idea. I really don't see how the witch has helped anyone. As far as I know, she advocates open borders, which allows Illegals to enter the country, and take jobs at such low wages that they artificially depress the wage system.

She also holds very socialist beliefs. mainly, all of her beliefs find roots in socialism. the kind that killed the Soviet union. So, please, if you can show me some place were she helped, do it! And don't say Arkansas. They hate her. And do not point to bills presidency and what she might have done then, becasue anyone with half a mind knows that she and him did nothing for this country worth talking about.

Im sorry Storm but Hillary Clinton is a Bitch all she supports people like Jack Thompson who hates games and associates it to violence. I don't think anyone really needs to show you this, when its been on GG a few times.

And IAMJOB56 is basically right. Trust me i hate hillary and i hate Obama( just for the fact he's a racist). As much as i don't like any of the 3 candidates this time around, McCain is actually alot better choice then those two.

Sure Obama stated some good things, but lately its just him and Hillary sniping at each other making them selves look like tools and showing their true colors.

She's helped the Southern states (such as Texas), New York (hell she's the Senator here), and has been in many programs for fighting for rights and such, especially during her reign as first lady.

I don't want to go into a history lesson, especially since whatever I say will be thumbed down anyways (that and you wouldn't care what she did in the past, you're only set on the 'now'). But please, educate yourselves. When you were younger, you likely didn't give a damn about politics...so how could you be sure that she and Bill did NOTHING for this country? Nothing worth talking about? I wonder...is this due to Bush's "un-doing" Bill's work? Who knows.

Why are the general older generations supporting Hilary? Why because they are more aware of her actions, they were possibly involved in them.

I hate hilary as well, but do you care to back up that ridiculous claim about Obama? Just because somebody supports his own race, doesn't make him a racist.

Final, please go educate yourself. No one cares to do research these days unless it's for a friggin' school report or part of their job.

FYI, I live in New York, and I make it my interest to know more about our representatives. You think she's done shit for NY? Please give some evidence.

lol. Educate myself. lol. Right. Downsizing the military is good, sure it is. Making social security even more prevalent, that's great! Now my pay check is diced up to support all the Mexican illegals and black hobos in their drinking and pot habits.

Also, you know those gunlaws that she keeps pushing? guess what! They are unconstitutional. it goes against the first amendment to take peoples right the bear arms! Not to mention crimes rates sky rocket when no one owns a gun, and crooks and murderers get a hold of them through less than legal means.

If you are that ignorant, I pity you. I really do.

I apologize. I forget that when you dislike someone, you'd never remember them for the good they've done, but only the negatives. First off, that gun law shit, it's always being debated. They can void the right to bare arms, you know, like they voided the 18th amendment.

Her plans focus more on the working middle/low class, what do you ride in high circles or something? I pity you for not realizing that people make mistakes. She's helped to fight for college funding (I'm a college student, mind you) here in NY among other things, and has been working to get the state more job opportunities as it's quite populated here.

Yeah, but let's not focus on the good that she's done, her health care plans, her fund-raising after the 9/11 attacks, her actions as First Lady. I understand that she's made bad choices and all, but you're going about like she's as bad as Bush...

The down-sizing of the military...what the hell are you talking about? Last I heard with Hilary's military involvement.

Bottom line is this. I'm a New Yorker, the general population of New York support Hilary, it's why she's performing a second term as Senator, eh? My views about her have been shaky lately, I admit, due to her dis-organized campaign for presidency, but I support her nonetheless. Obama's a great speaker, but I'm afraid it'll be like Jimmy Carter's campaign with his themes, 'hope and change.'

It really hasn't occurred to you that she might just be doing those things to help herself, and not you. She does not care about the little guys.

Maybe I should clarify my military statement. Her husband did, but we all know she was the one running the show. Also, I cannot believe you cannot she that she is a lying bitch. Seriously, she is a politician! No good can really come from ANY politician.

oh yeah, and if you are referring to that visit to Iraq Hillary made, that was for press, you should know that too. She is a liberal, they are against the military. Why doesn't that occur to you? And if she supports the military, why do the soldiers hate her guts? Tell me why. If you can't, you fail. If you do you fail again, because anything you say will be a lie. Now if you want to keep this going, just PM on neo or something.

I see no reason in continuing this pointless argument. We won't change each-other's minds, just seems to go back and forth. But I will say the following anyways:

Well if you look at her that way, then that should go for every rich cat, every government member, every politician as you said, that's general. The trip to Iraq was for the press?...Another general statement. If you see a famous person doing something of that sort, anyone would say it was for the press.

Stereotyping? I'm a liberal, and I'm not against the military. And referring to that article, not all the military 'hate her guts.'

The sooner people realise that it's not just kids who play video games, the sooner all this will go away. Obama has pretty much got the right idea here.

"the government can only solve so many problems with how kids are being raised."

I was unaware the government solved problems?

Usually they just declare war on it.

    The WAR on terror.
    The WAR on drugs.
    etc...

Storm i also live in New York, perhaps you forgot that, i know what the *bleep* im talking about. I know more about Hillary than you do. She's done shit for New York. Rudy Gulliani Done more shit for this state than she could possible ever do.

No Hillary is beyond bad, hell Bush can't even compete to her BS.
New Yorkers like her cause their ignorant, and doesn't know a damn about her. That isn't directed to you, but she's done nothing for New York since the time i started researching about Politics and that was 10 Years ago.

I love that you say you know more about Hilary than I do, pure class, Final, really. How the hell can you assume that? I've done a report on these presedential candidates for Pol. Science class, I follow the friggin' politics through the New York times daily, and you're saying you know more than me? That she's done 'shit' for New York? Really now...Rudy Gulliani only became more 'popular' during the 9/11 attacks, where he took charge as any mayor would have. Hilary's a senator, not a mayor, she's a representative of the state, mayor's focus a lot more on the rules and regulations of the state.

You must be Republican. Especially to believe that Hilary is worse than Bush.
