With news that the PS3 version of GTAIV is freezing more than its Xbox 360 counterpart, Sony have issued a statement (of a sort) addressing the issue and letting people know that they are indeed working on a solution to the problem. Let's hope that they find one soon...

Yes, we are aware of what the message boards and a few of the industry blogs are saying about a 'freezing' issue with GTA IV on a limited number of PS3s. Although we have seen an extremely low volume of contacts to our customer service department regarding such an issue, we want to ensure that every consumer has a great experience on our console and with GTA IV. All parties involved are working to isolate the problem for those few units and identify a solution.

Again this isn't the games fault probably the system fault. Thats why its happening.

Just because you are able to play it doesn't mean it's not broken. This industry, as well as others, pushes shit out the door to make money first and foremost.....making it work last....and trust me, I know first hand what it's like.

No 100s of thousands are able to play it, its just a minor problem thats getting looked into. Broken means its not playable. Its not the best choice of words.
Stuff like this out of the whole slew of things on the game doesn't always get noticed. For you to think other wise is pretty stupid.

Since when have we even known approximates as to the amount of games(consoles?) affected? All we've had are three stories about it. Besides, with such a huge game as GTA, there are so many things to check that it's not always possible to find everything that needs addressing. I'm not a fan of glitchy games on release either, but a quick patch and the problem should (hopefully) be solved.
