Speaking of countdowns, the GTA II website now has its own, counting down to May 22. What could this be for?

Yes, it seems that C&VG forgot that GTA2 took place “three weeks into the future.” It was written in the game’s manual! How could you forget? So, seeing as that date is in fact three weeks from today we got a bit suspicious.

We quickly changed our computer’s date, moving it a day forward and then visited the site again. Interestingly, it had all changed, and now May 23rd appeared at the bottom. Then we moved our computers date a whole year forward and the date again changed to some time in 2009.

It seems the site will always remain three weeks ahead of whatever day your computer clock is set to, and it is just a clever way of messing about with the period Rockstar set the game in.
