Iwata Hints at Wii Storage Space Solution

Twisted | May 02, 2008 | News | Wii
The president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, has hinted about a solution to the Wii storage problem. He was asked whether the memory situation could be improved, and he hinted:

"However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience."

So the people with the space issues are the people buying the most games. Hopefully Nintendo will fix this soon.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has hinted that Nintendo is looking into a solution to the problem of people running out of storage space on Wii.

Speaking last week to investors about Nintendo's latest fiscal term, Iwata was asked whether the memory situation could be improved. He replied:

"Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory.

"However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience."

Our advice? A hard drive. Get on it.

I hope that they come out with one soon. I'm running out of room, and if I get a lot of Wii games for my birthday I might just run out of room, and have to delete some things.

You dont "hint" at this sort of thing. Not being able make more game saves because of your own *bleep* up does NOT give you hinting rights. You give us straight freaking answers nintendo because this is bullshit.

I'm not even close to running out of space... but it should be something that Nintendo look into doing.

Good to hear, since I'm starting to run out of space. I've got a reasonable amount of VC games on the Wii so far, and I'll want to get more in the future. Plus with Wiiware coming our way pretty soon, more space is vital.

I too have used up a lot of my space, and a couple VC games will probably make me start deleting stuff or moving it to an SD card. But my SD card is 2 GB, so I won't be needing this. But seriously, this needed to come out a long time ago. Heck, even a firmware update allowing external hard drives or other storage mediums would suffice. We just want more space, without having to keep switching data or make SD card libraries.
