Mario Kart Wii is still top in Japan, after 151,918 games were sold, in just three weeks. Coming in second, is Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, coming in at 92,656 game sales.

May 2, 2008 - There's no stopping Mario Kart over in Japan. In its third week of sales, the Wii title sold an additional 151,918 units, placing it at the top of Media Create's software chart for the week covering 4/21 to 4/27.

Mario Kart was followed in second by another long seller. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G sold an additional 92,656 units. The two titles have remained fixed in first and second for the past three weeks.

Following these two were a trio of new titles. Sega's Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3 placed third in its first week with 77,267 units. Bandai Namco followed with two DS titles: Taiko no Tatsujin DS Adventure on the Seven Islands with 55,950 units, and Summon Night with 37,856 units.

        I sincerely doubt that. Wii Fit should have more staying power than Mario Kart Wii.

    I imagine it will stay at the top for a while. And yes, it's a great game.
