Two Classic Characters Return For Resident Evil 5's Mercenaries Reunion
17 hours 4 mins ago
As many of you know, Electronic Arts tried to buy out Take 2 Interactive, but if that did happen, how would the Grand Theft Auto series change? Would it be the same? Or crash and burn like Command and Conquer when the company took over Westwood Studios? Talk Playstation figures that the franchise simply wouldn't be the same and would be ruined if EA took over.
We all feared that if EA took over Take 2 they would destroy GTA forever just like they have done with takeovers in the past. I think that EA would have completely destroyed GTA by trying to make it their game and just lose that GTA touch altogether. It wouldnt be GTA at all. No one can do it as good as Rockstar.
We no longer need to worry because it hasnt happened and Take 2 has rejected all of EAs offers.
Whats your view on this? Do you think EA had the potential to destroy the GTA series by making it their game?

EA know that Rockstar are doing something right you don't sell $500 million worth of product on one day if you aren't, EA will see that money and smile. They will not mess with the formula the only thing they will mess with is the budget and chances are Rockstar will get even more money to spend.
And you do not have to worry about EA rushing Rockstar since Dan and Sam Houser will join their list of developers elite that just get unlimited time to make their next billion dollar game, Will Wright the creator of Sims and Spore is just one in the very same situation, EA would not dare rush him, he created a formula that works and it is making EA hundreds of millions a year.
If they had managed to close a deal before GTA IV's release then this would be an entirely different
I'm not saying that GTA wouldn't get worse following a merge; indeed it seems that Rockstar have the true knack for developing this game. But everywhere I look people are saying that EA ruin everything they touch, and it just isn't true.
i guess they'll buy rockstar north, if they continue to work the same ay they do i.e. without interruption, then it may not be completly destroyed
sure there may be some realworld advertising, instead of the comic fake ones in GTA, but....
Its not all gloom and doom.
it will never be the same if they do ):
Its not like ea make complete shit games ALL the time, otherwise they would not still be in business.
I can see it now: GTA: 2009. GTA: 2010
Hey, maybe they can do a sort of crossover and have John Madden as the lead character.
