Sierra Entertainment and Radical Entertainment announced their sandbox-style action game will be delayed until April 1, 2009. A statement from the companies reads as follows:

"Sierra Entertainment and Radical Entertainment have made the decision to shift Prototype to launch in 2009...Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create."

Gamestop lists the release in the US at the 1st of April in 2009.

You can help support the site by purchasing Prototype for the 360 from Play.com.

Possibly because then the game has no room to disappoint him, but instead plenty to impress him with.

        Who said i was pessimistic?
Sure i like what i've seen, and think it looks good, but i hardly think its going to be groundbreaking for the Sandbox genre, which GTA4 seemed to be doing just that.

Aw darn. But better they polish it off and give us an awesome game, than a buggy crap game...

Besides, it would help fill in the (usually) boring spring/summer period for games....
