      It's from id's official website.

Wow, way to read the source before commenting.

We're still at least 2 years before launch since they're asking for programmers, but still, that's enough to rekindle my love of the lore of Doom.

It's from the creator's official website. The first line is:

"Production has begun on DOOM 4™, the next journey into the legendary DOOM universe. We are expanding our internal team and are currently hiring to work on this highly anticipated title."

You're a *bleep*ing idiot if you don't take this as being accurate.

          ...

You're not serious are you? Of course it's accurate if it's from the official website of the company that makes the game. Wow you're ignorant FB. >_>

I also recall FB taking the rumors of a PS3 bioshock as a fact and what the leading developer of Bioshock said as a rumor.

Just because it said that doesn't mean its actually going to be released. Thats what i mean about it. Im not saying i don't want it to be released, cause im a Doom fan myself, but things happen. The PS2 stargate game got cancelled, and many others.

@Raziel_326: No i never saying it was fact, but i wasn't saying it was a rumor either. I was saying it was greatly possible cause of them asking for PS3 Developers. Stop twisting my words.

          Give it a *bleep*ing rest.

You did not say there was a possibility that it would get cancelled. You were doubting the validity of the official source, you're only raising the point that it could be cancelled now that a member in the FFVII forum misread your post.

It's painfully obvious that you are just that stupid.

          You...are...an...idiot FB.

It's DOOM 4. It can't be canceled once announced, especially something as pivotal as the Doom franchise for id. Doom is a part of why id is such a damn industry juggernaut in the first place, and canceling it will mean not only a huge fan uproar and loss of millions of dollars in sales and time, but it will show that id is full of liars, and that will never do for their image. They promise something to the fans, they deliver. If there was any doubt that Doom 4 would be canceled before being finished, then they wouldn't have bothered to announce it this early.

As for using Stargate PS2 as a valid reason why DOOM 4 will be canceled, LOL! That's ridiculous, that's like saying Half-Life 2 would be canceled because "Barbie's Dating Night" was canceled.

Sweet, I might actually get around to playing Doom 3 once my exams are over now I have a PC that can run it without major lag.

I'm not sure the whole "retelling of Doom 1" storyline went over with fans that well, hopefully this won't be a retalling of Doom II.

You may be a bit disappointed with Doom 3...just a heads up, don't expect too much.

        Deathman48 May 9, 08
Nah, I have actually played it, just the PC I had at the time couldn't really run it that well, so it was a bit frustrating to lag every time I fired a rocket. I've seen speedruns of it though, and it looks exciting enough combined with what I experienced.

I think it was just a combination of Doom 3 being delayed so many times plus the series having the whole "Father of the modern FPS genre" tag to live up to that meant people didn't rate it as highly as it could have been.
