I've often found myself using the Gamecube controller in games that offer the option, simply because it's easier to use and I have more fun with it.
Nintendo keep going on about how "revoluationary" the Wii's motion control is, but there aren't many Wii games that involve more than "waggling" the Wiimote in front of the screen and, quite frankly, I don't find much fun in that. (and it can pain the wrist after a while).
Great in LoZ:TP and MP3C.
Personally, I really like the last line of the article, and agree with it completly. Motion control doesn't belong in every single Wii game, just like analog control isn't necessary for every game on the planet either. But, when the game suits it, motion controls can add a new level to gameplay not possible with a standard pad.
And Ameer, video games in general are gimmicks. I don't really know what else you expect.
I don't like playing with the GameCube controller or the Classic controller on the Wii tbh, it just makes it seem like any ordinary console. =\
I do think it has helped overall in most games, especially first-person shooters because you actually aim using the Wiimote.
It helps...just because people don't like new challenges presented by new control methods means nothing. The motion control is the main reason a lot of people bought the Wii in the first place
