Dailygame.net's Phillip Volmer gives his final impressions on the PS3's Metal Gear Solid Online Beta. According to the story, the gameplay is good, the levels are well detailed, the controls are supposedly easy to get used to. However, Metal Gear Solid's online play isn't expected to overtake the likes of COD4 anytime soon, but MGS fans should love it all the same.

The gameplay itself is a different spin on the typical first-person shooter, and as such, it controls differently than you might think. If you're a fan of Metal control scheme, it should come pretty naturally, but players should run through some training levels first just to be safe. The matches provide a mix of slow and frantic gameplay scenarios, although when you get in a full lobby, the game types generally devolve into the same-old shooter gametypes you've played a million times (Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag, Territories, etc.). When you set up a private room, and there's just four or five of you, you can experience a bit more of the Metal Gear Solid "feel."

I thought it rocked. Hated laggers who used their bad connection to their advantage...

Well I lagged horriably and was booted from almost every game straight away but I liked what I saw of it. If only I could get a better Internet connection.

Oh and that glitch were you died right after being killed was annoying as hell
