Information has been released by Konami regarding their new DS entry into the famed Castlevania series, titled Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, confirming the speculation. Included in the information are details of the new female protagonist, Shanoa, as well as a vague note about the new Glyph Battle System, (flaunted to be capable of up to one hundred different special attacks). Also confirmed is the use of the DS's WiFi capabilities not only to trade items and equipment between players, but additionally to battle your friends and enemies in a head-on-head online mode. Although only minor details, the game is already beginning to look exquisite. Will this be another Castlevania classic? We'll find out when Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is released this fall.

Dubbed Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, this third installment on Nintendo's portable console will also feature a host of new things fans all over the world will undoubtedly enjoy. For example, the game will introduce a brand new Glyph-attack system that allows players to unleash more than 100 combos in their battles against Dracula's minions. Also, new outdoor locations will be introduced in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, from dark forests to oceans.

"We have always felt that the Castlevania franchise has been an excellent fit on Nintendo DS, and based on the popularity of the DS classics, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, our fans agree," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment. "We fully expect Order of Ecclesia to ignite the fan base once again as it combines the classic Castlevania gameplay with an all-new combat system and outdoor environments."

Sounds good, as long as the art style stays the same I won't be bothered by it.

Bah. I miss the old Castlevania art style.
Get rid of that simplistic anime crap. Bring back Ayami Kojima's pretty art.
