It's been no more then a week since the launch of WiiWare, and the release of Frontier's atmospheric quasi-3D platformer LostWinds, and the company has already confirmed a sequel. The follow-up to WiiWare's highest rated game will feature "amazing new gameplay" as Toku's quest to save Mistralis continues.

On its official website, Frontier features an option for readers to register for advance information on its "... forthcoming LostWinds sequel containing amazing new gameplay as Toku and Enril's incredible adventure to save Mistralis continues."

In previous interviews with IGN, Frontier's David Braben indicated that to cease work on the LostWinds franchise after only a single game would be a missed opportunity for the studio.

With WiiWare being released over in the UK tomorrow, Lost Winds is definitely the first one I am going to get. A sequel already in the making? Nice one.

So far the first one is great, calming music and atmosphere and good game play. Maybe in the sequel Toku will be able to run faster.
