Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time
17 hours 4 mins ago
Before it was just a rumor, but now Activision confirmed it: Call of Duty 5 will be coming out in Fall of this year. I am somewhat excited about this. I love Call of Duty, but Infinity Ward won't be making this one... Treyarch will.
Hot on the tail of news that Grand Theft Auto 4 just became the bestselling entertainment launch of all time, ever, beating out Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End, competing publisher Activision has stepped up and announced that theyll be launching Call of Duty 5 in fall of this year.
Aaand no one heard them because they were too busy killing Albanian loan sharks and chasing hookers through Liberty City. But, once people get bored of GTA4 (read: never), Im sure theyll be itching for some good old fashioned FPS action. And those who dont own an XBOX or a PS3 wont be left hanging because itll be coming out for PC, Wii, PS2 and DS also. (But COD3 pretty much sucked for the Wii, so I dont know if thats really good news).
Activisions CEO has also said that itll be set in a new military theatre. A more urban setting reminiscent of a large northeastern metropolis, perhaps?

"Call Of Duty 5: Future Warfare"
Good thing these games keep coming out on the PC. But why DS again? Oh, well. We may never know.
Gray Matter made Call of Duty: United Offensive
Treyarch made Call of Duty 3
IW made Call of Duty 4
Treyarch is making Call of Duty 5
IW is making Call of Duty 6 right now
Treyarch for the time being will develop future odd titles
IW for the time being will develop future even titles.
It would have helped to run this through a quick reference check before assuming things. COD and COD2 stomped the life out of COD3 and it's an insult to see them associated to that failure.
IW does have some say in what goes on, but seeing as chances are the property and money come from Activision, I'd think they probably have more pull.
This sucks, not a fan of Treyarch's CoD3. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, though.
