Xbox 360 2008 Lineup Revealed, With New 'Gears of War' Leading The Charge

Rune Ripper | May 20, 2008 | News | XBOX 360
Microsoft to release possibly the noisiest, most graphically impressive batch of games — but 'Halo Wars' is nowhere to be found.

Six publishers showcased more than 40 new titles for Microsofts Xbox 360 in San Fransisco and Los Angeles, Gears of War 2 being in the presentation, as well as Fable 2.

However, Halo Wars, a real-time strategy game said to have been released late 2008 had not been confirmed, which means Gears 2 will be the biggest Xbox 360 game this year.
The Xbox 360 lineup will be led by "Gears of War 2," which was shown to reporters at Dogpatch Studios in a demo controlled by the game's lead developer, Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games. The game might not be done, but the talking points are far along.

Bleszinski reminded reporters that the game was "bigger, better and more badass" than its predecessor several times. To prove it, he controlled returning protagonist Marcus Fenix in an early level of the game. Bleszinski had Fenix standing on top of a rolling derrick, one of several massive flatbed trucks rolling toward a goal in the midst of a war zone. From all sides, giant cannon-backed monsters approached the truck to attack Fenix. Hundreds of locust foot-soldiers swarmed the trucks. Fenix hopped on and off the truck to blow every last one of them to bits.

Some of them were included in the article, Ninja Gaiden II, Too Human, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise were the only ones mentioned, not including Gears of War 2 and Fable 2.

    Ninja Gaiden II ftw! <3
But yeah, I didn't think the 360 would have much to compete with this year after the year it's had (dominated last year, imo). Going up against MGS4, SSBB, Gears 2 is definitely up there.

If anything, think this year beats last year.

IMO this is going to be the best year

      Ninja gaiden 2
Viva pinata 2(loved the first one)
      Gears of war 2
      Fable 2
      Too human

Coupled with my new laptop in the summer AND GCSE's over and me going to college to study interactive media its going to PWN.

I can't wait for the new Banjo-Kazooie game. I also plan on getting Fable, and possibly Viva Pinata, though I should probably play the first one first. Haven't playe the first Gears game yet, not too interested in it.
