Wii Fit's only been out for a month in Europe, and already it seems the novelty and appeal of it is wearing off. The Guardian newspaper journalist Greg Howson admits he picked up the game for the first time in 10 days today, and is unlikely to go back to it soon... an opinion shared by thousands nationwide?

We all know that there are health benefits to gain from playing Wii Fit, but aiming it at those who don't exercise much in the first place... will it's appeal last, or will the Balance Board be left to gather dust soon after purchase? For one British journalist, that's already happened.

One British journalist doesn't account for the millions of people all over Europe.

It's just the casual market thing. Games like Wii Fit fly right under the radar no matter how big of a splash they attempt to make.

Well its a casual game, this isn't really something which is designed to be played and played and played

Hence in lies the fact that it's 'novelty' will wear off, meaning whilst it's sold millions in hours since release (over exaggeration), the amount of people actually using it will be so low, that if they ever come out with a second gen wii fit (wii fit 2) it'll probably be kept in the bargain bin (again over exaggeration).

I don't think the novelty is wearing off. The motivation to exercise is probably wearing off. The same thing happens when most people go to the gym, or when they buy a new exercise machine. Unless other games use the balance board, the same people who have dusty Ab Rollers will most likely have a dusty balance board.

Actually no, it is wearing off. Cause Home gyms are the problem, not actual gyms. I made this point about why America is fat a long time ago. When people go to an actual gym they work out. When you have home gyms people put it off saying i'll do it tomorrow or later and it never gets done. Actually going out and either walking or going to a real gym makes you work out.

Granted, that may be the case with some people but let's be real here, you can't really say that about everyone that buys this *cough* game because everyone is different. However, it would make sense to say that Wii Fit's novelty is wearing off because each copy of Wii Fit is Wii Fit. They're all the same.
So logically, saying that majority of everyone's will to exercise is wearing off is quite the blind statement whereas saying that Wii Fit's wow-ness would make more sense.
But of course, no one is just 100% on things like this, but I just thought that I should let ya' know.
