Guitar Hero IV, officialy World Tour, is to be the first Wii title to feature in-game downloadable content. With this feature it is hoped more will buy the title. The game also features a battle of the bands mode in which you may duke it out online in 4 v 4 matches.

As rumoured earlier on in the year, Guitar Hero: World Tour follows Electronic Arts’ lead with Rock Band, allowing players to jam along to tunes with drums and a microphone, in addition to the guitars.

Activision reveals that the game will deliver the largest on-disc set list of any music-rhythm game to date, including master recordings from the likes of Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, Sublime, and many more. In addition, localised downloadable content will be made available, as well as the option to fully customise your chosen in-game rock stars - from their appearance, to their album art and sleeves.

Well, there goes the DLC for GHIII...

Oh well, least we know we'll be getting Band VS Band mode on the Wii Version, so no biggy.

So, Wii gets DLC, too? I doubt it.

That's what the press release says. It says that it's the "First Game Ever in the Guitar Hero Franchise to Allow In-Game Downloadable Content on Wii", so apparently it will.

I was kind of doubtful, too, but I guess that new Pay-to-Pay service promised downloadable content, and Nintendo representatives said multiple times that they're "looking at a storage solution" for the Wii. They are boasting how they are the first to do it on the Wii, so I'm pretty sure they're serious about this.

Nice to hear that Guitar Hero doesn't hate Wii owners like Rock Band does. D:
