Is there room on PS3 for two similar first-party titles? We say "yes," and "please make sure they're better than Haze." Read on for Multiplayer's observations, along with some developer insight on Sony's positioning of both first-person battles against creepy creatures and ... Space Nazis.

Ressistance 2 is more of a buy for me since the first one was so kick ass.

Totally going to get both - but it's a no brainer that Killzone is going to be cuts above Resistance 2. KZ2 is being pumped full of Sony Gold. It likely won't be released till long after Resistance 2 anyway. Not saying R2 is going to suck either, it's going to be more of the same great WW2lien slaying action we saw last time, with enhanced features all 'round. Win/Uber Win. Can't go wrong.

You mean graphically above. Resistance 1 is a much better game than Killzone 1, and we know much more about Resistance 2, than Killzone 2 at this point. Nobody can say right now which will be better, but Resistance has better gameplay reputation.

Killzone 2 is going to own Resistance 2 graphics-wise but I loved Resistance's massive weapons selection, replay value and length.

Tough decision but I have a feeling Resistance 2 is going to be bigger. I think Killzone 2 is going to be another Haze or at least a game with graphics as its only advantage but no good gameplay. Its just that they didn't throw us a bone and give us some gameplay vids or anything like that. I hope I'm wrong though. I guess we'll find out this fall.

I agree. Graphics isn't a major asset for me in games, if there's more features and gameplay elements, I'll gladly play a 2D, heh. Thank the '90s for this attitude. Hell, I still love playing Tetris, first and favorite game.

Huh?? Killzone is still in alpha stage - have you seen the recent Sony Gameday videos? There's at least 6 of them which show more gameplay (in alpha stage), and graphics rivaling Call of Duty 4.

The ally AI however is still as bland as it was in Killzone, so hopefully they work on that. (I spotted allies standing over areas they could have been covering from, when being shot at, and not returning fire realistically like CoD4. Same exact look of KZ1, so they really need to fix that)

As it stands, their first priority seems to be to get things to look as good as possible, smoothen out the frame rate, work on the world design, and then focus on the tweaks to gameplay elements, since those will probably take the longest amount of time, it'd be easier to get everything else out of the way first.

Wasn't interested in Killzone when it first came out and am less excited for its sequel. I loved Resistence and plan on picking it up in its first weekend.

But the Killzone hype isn't anything now. Now its just a regular game. Nothing iteresting.

Sony never 'hyped up' Killzone - magazines and internet gamer sites did. People over-anticipated it, and when there's over hype, there's bound to be people like you who simply dismiss it completely and keep from the crowds. Not a stupid move either, don't get me wrong, but it's ignorance nonetheless. You should at least attempt to play it to judge it. In this day and age though, you can get with less than that sometimes - IE: There are mission walkthrough videos on youtube which give you nearly the full experience of playing. From mission 1 to the end.

Don't count chickens before they hatch, that sort of thing.

Sony didn't? who exactly dubbed it the 'Halo-killer?' And I'm sure interviews were done to help hype up the game. That and magazines wouldn't hype it up unless they knew that Sony considered it a heavy-hitter. It'd be stupid if they did. -_-

Don't care as I plan on buying both.I enjoyed the first Killzone so I'm sure I'll like this one as well.

At least then I'll finally have a FPS besides Resistance.

Obvious, but I loved the first killzone. It had problems, mainly due to Guerilla's inexperience, but with all the support Sony's dev' division is pumping into KZ2, you can expect quite a bit to be worked out, and much improved on in the final release.

Last gameplay video of KZ2 I saw, the AI managed to sneak around and ambush the player, and it wasn't scripted at all. Besides, most demos at gaming events are set on easy, so the player doesn't get annoyed by losing too much.

Either way, I'm buying both. But I'm betting 5 bucks KZ2 suffers from hype-murder.
