Capcom is saying it wants to produce more movies based on their video games. They have already experienced huge success with their Resident Evil series, and want to capitalize on the success of their other video game franchises as well.

``We are in the process of working out contracts for several offers we received at the Cannes Film Festival last week and hope to make an announcement soon,'' Tsujimoto said in a Bloomberg Television interview broadcast today, declining to provide specifics. ``If realized, the projects will have a big impact on the game and movie industries.''

Dude, filmmakers have taken DBZ and have perverted it to unknown levels, seeing a Live action Mega Man is a lot easier to imagine.

The live DBZ sucks. I can't imagine what it'd be like for Megaman.

Sonic has already been made into a comic, and when I was in Taiwan two years ago, the animated series was being aired. It actually featured Shadow, so I think it's pretty recent and still ongoing.

I don't know if it's been licensed for an American release, though.

It seems like the comments thus far are asking if there's a Street Fighter movie out. I'm not sure if you're all too young to remember, but there was a live action SF movie released in 1994 and it was terrible. Now they're working on a new one that's supposed to focus on Chun Li, with Kristen Kreuk starring as our favorite fighter from the East (who somehow managed to make thunder thighs sexy).

I expect the new SF movie to be just as bad.

The first two Resident Evil movies were alright. I enjoyed the action, and the heroine was kick ass; however, the third one looked really strange (based on the trailers), and I decided to avoid it.

The third movie didn't really stray off the ass kicking at all, if that's what you were worried about. Now in terms of giving the spotlight back to the zombies...well that never really happened much.
