Remember Final Fantasy XIII: Agito? It was a cell phone game in the "Fabula Nova Crystallis" series (which also includes FFXIII and FFvsXIII).

Today Square Enix announced that one of their cell phone games has been cancelled, and it sounds like Agito might have been it.

The company went back and reconsidered in development titles. A mobile game has been shitcanned, apparently. "Concerning the title that connects to the home console," Wada said, "development has been ceased as it is unsuitable at the current time." Wada's remark has lead to some to wonder whether that cancelled mobile game is Final Fantasy Agito XIII as it was supposed to connect to upcoming home console game Final Fantasy XIII.

Shame. Oh well, it was probably a good move by them as I'm guessing not that many people would but it because a lot of people still have crappy phones..(well, ones that aren't good for games).

"it is unsuitable at the current time", this backs up what I said because it sounds like they're waiting until the majority of phones can play good games.

I played a few, one being the God of War one, and it was awesome. Not all Cellphone games suck, I honestly doubt you played them all to make that assumption...and even if you have played it most of them, doesn't make it fact. Everyone has different taste and opinions on what games are good or not.

God BK you seem to attack everything which isn't Banjo and Kazooie, there are other games out there believe and it or not and a lot of people like them.

As for why its called Final Fantasy that's very simple, while I don't know the specifics Square (or whoever made them back then) had made a number of titles which weren't selling very well, they only had enough money for one last game and they expected it to fail, so they named it Final Fantasy which of course sold very well and thus they continued the franchise.

Agito was only going to be released in Japan anyway wasn't it?

OMG! They expected FF to fail? Shit! How could they expect it to fail? I mean, I played the anniversary edition of it, and I thought it rocked for the standards of an old game.

SE must have seen the success Before Crisis made, when they took that decision over Agito.
