Sega putting more money into the arcade.

theundertakergonzo | May 27, 2008 | News | Company Misc
Sega are pretty big in the arcade scene and they're not stopping as they're now porting a version of Sega Rally 3 into the arcade. The port will still be pretty well the same in the base features as to what was seen in its PS3 and 360 ports.
Looks like Sega will never give up on the arcade scene as it unleashes another coin-muncher in the form of Sega Rally 3, an arcade port of last year's 360, PS3 release.

Appearing in arcades across UK and Europe, it uses Sega's new Europa-R arcade hardware, which pumps out the games visuals in lush 720p at a silky 60 frames per second.

The game, according to people who still write arcade game reviews, is made up of much of the same assets from the most recent Sega Rally title on Xbox 360 and PS3. That means the ground deformation and changing course conditions are in.

And it also means owners of the console version can rock down to the arcades and try to impress the hooded rude boys with their ace powersliding skills, right before being asked to hand over their phone.

What the hell is going on? I had no idea people still visited arcades. Oh, well. I guess I was pretty wrong on that. Next Gen arcades.

Wow, I had no idea people didn't know that arcades weren't made up of Double Dragon II machines.

Just because you don't follow it don't assume it hasn't progressed or that it's some mythical thing.

There are pleanty of arcades around and a huge array of advancements for interaction, out here we have large and small businesses operating with the latest and greatest machines.

It's cool to know that the Europa-R machines are getting some love though, first Initial D Ver. 4 and now this.
