Singleplayer is awesome, sure multiplayer can be good but its that story driven action packed campaign that we hunger for. Here is a list of the top 10 FPS singleplayer games. While all these titles are available for PC many of them are or will be on consoles. System Shock 2, Doom and Deus Ex all make a appearance but which one will be top dog?

FPS - First person shooter. Three words, one genre and a whole host of games; it's almost the de facto style for a PC game today. That's you holding that gun, casting the spell and swinging the sword; you get to choose exactly where you look, touch and move to. It's the closest you can get to that virtual world.
Shooting games have been around since... well, if electricity was around when Noah was rebuilding after the floods, I'd bet money that he'd be playing a shooting game of some kind. Fairground attractions have offered the punter the chance to pop a cap in a duck's head for nearly a century now and there's no denying that it's the most popular activity in games (e.g. Action Man or Cowboys 'n' Indians all involve the use of guns).
It was some time before the concept of a character appeared in a video game and but the notion of having it in "first person" happened almost simultaneously; Maze War can be argued as being the first example of both uses. Indeed, it's essentially the first FPS game but for the purpose of this poll and the Top 10 list, we're concentrating on PC titles released any time between now and the early 1990s.

Methinks BioShock will place up with the HLs, Crysis is going to be on there as well.
What a joke guys. About the only recent games I'd say would deserve to be on this list might be Far Cry and Half-Life 2.
FEAR? Really now? Best ever? Good but yeah... just no. And The Darkness? Haha, no. It was fun though.
The fact that Half-Life 1 is behind Half-Life 2 automatically destroys this list.
