With Civilisation Revolution revealed, to be the first Civilisation game to come onto a console since Civ 2 was released on the PSX, it's not a wonder as to why it's gotten many Civ Fans excited. But those that were planning to get it on the Wii were left slightly disappointed. Whilst the PS3, XBOX360 and NDS versions were slated to have a Spring 2008 release, the Wii version was "relagated" to the Fall Season.

The reason for this should, if anything, please gamers, because Firaxis programmer Scott Lewis told 1Up.com that the reason for this was simply that they wanted to recreate the experiance on the Wii properly, and there simply isn't enough reasons to do this in-house.

"Conceptual work has started on the Wii and we are working on a whole new interface for that version of the game. Nothing silly, like you have to wave the remote above your head to lasso your workers, but making it more appropriate to the pointer style," says Lewis. "Currently it feels more like the Mii manipulation screen, where you pick up and move folks around. The style and feel might change, but we're not going to tack on any silly minigames to make it more 'Wii-friendly."

Civilization on the Wii will be the greatest thing ever.

In fact, all RTS games should just be made for Wii nowadays.

Why on earth they need to bump it back though is beyond me. It's not a lot of hard work to just apply the Wiimote as a standard mouse pointer like on a PC. I don't want to have to pick people up. Just point, click, drag the box. That's all, what's the problem?

They probably wanted to make sure they nailed the controls down well, instead of just making another crappy port with tacked-on Wii controls like most companies have been doing.
