Fans in the UK must have been estatic at the thought of getting their hands on Halo 3 at midnight... well no more. Due to be released in just over a week, Halo 3 wont be getting a Midnight launch like the PS3 did back in March. Whilst the HMV employee knew nothing about a Midnight Launch a Game Employee (GASP!) told CVG that the council wasn't allowing a midnight launch due to the excessive number of fans that the council fears will turn up for the launch.

However, whilst the street of Oxford Street wont be open, over 1,000 retailers are said to be opening their doors at midnight to the masses of fans that are waiting for the game, in other parts of London.

If you were hoping to get it from an Oxford Street branch, then you'll have to get their slightly later than planned, as the shops are still aiming to open slightly earlier than usual, just not at midnight.

To celebrate the launch, on Tuesday 25th Halo 3 is taking over the BFI IMAX cinema in Waterloo (UK's biggest cinema screen) where lucky fans and a number of top celebrities will be going head to head playing Halo 3 on the giant screen. Tickets to the red carpet premiere event can be won at www.xbox.com, along with giveaways in The Daily Telegraph this Saturday and on Kiss FM next Tuesday.
