Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing
12 hours 1 mins ago
Well it was only a few days ago we were given a set of screens but now we have even more screens. These screens show us how our inventory is going to be working out and from what we can see everything is stored within pockets in Edwards' jacket. It always shows us that instead of having a health bar Edward will manually heal his own wounds. That is something different.
Now, we wouldn't usually give you shots of a game's menu screens, but Alone in the Dark tries to do things a little differently.
To keep things more grounded in gritty reality, all of your in-game inventory is placed in the dozens of pockets inside your jacket. Where in most other games you'd usually pause and go to a menu screen, in AitD you simply open you coat and look down at your chest, where you can see the various bottles, ammo and other items stored.
You'll also see lead character Edward Carnby applying medication to wounds manually, rather than simply seeing a health bar shoot up and a medipak disappear from your menu.
It's a nice touch, we think. Keeps you right in there. Maybe more games should do this.
See the screens below, then swing by here to see a trailer that'll remind you how good the rest of the game actually looks.
