Afrika has been quite for a while and was just recently shed some light. After confirming the game will not be coming out for Europe, it was confirmed by Japanese retailers that Afrika is a Photography game. Travel far throough out the African Savannah to snap to the perfect shot, either by foot, wheels or from above in a hot air balloon.

Famitsu has some new pictures from the game and scans have hit the net. Will this games beauty will be overshadowed by its gameplay?

      Commenting on your own article?

Anyway, it's pretty good, graphically. Could do with a few touch-ups, but overall it's cool.

        I didn't know that wasn't cool.

It does look good...but in order to make this interesting is to make the animals and the whole "ecosphere" come to life.

Yes, I do want this game, but only if the animals and whole ecosphere are very well done. That, and what do you do with the pictures?

Pity though it's only for Japan, I don't want to have to import, but will if it's good enough.

A game about photography? If you dont get to shoot the animals after taking their picture, there is no way this is going to be finding its way into my gaming console.

The graphics do look good, from what I can tell.

I'd hope it is more than just 'point and click' photography. Some other gameplay elements, like tracking, finding poachers, or something like that....

Unless it was released at a lower price, a game exclusively about Photography wouldn't sell that well, I think....

I'm guessing/assuming/hoping that it'd be something about tracking, and then having goals to find certain things to photograph, and you have to figure out where and when and how you'd possibly be able to take a picture of that! Something like a Tazmanian Devil eating (are they in Africa? Tazmania? Lol) you'd have to know to look for it at night. Or like you said, catching poachers and taking pictures for evidence against them, etc.

      Still . . . should be no more than $50 I hope.

Yeah I was thinking it might be like that. And also that it is a open world so you have to search for the animals instead of just a level that looks open world but isn't and there is barely any searching. I think searching for the animals would be as big of a part of taking the pictures.

I wish someone can read japanese so they can translate the preview.

Doesn't matter to me what it looks like as EU and no doubt Aus are not getting it.

Yeah, but don't forget about imports.

Though unless you could read and/or speak Japanese, you'd want to hold out for a North American release....

Lol I didn't think of that.
