Half-Life 2: City 17 In Germany??

...The city of Leipzig to be specific. A set of clever photoshops done to pictures of the site of the popular European Gaming Convention draws scary parallels to the fictional city from the hit Half-Life 2 series.

Something fundamental had changed in the nature of our surroundings, and we all knew it. It wasn't just the weariness of a long, cross-European journey playing with our minds. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong.

And then it clicked, and in unison we exclaimed in shrill terror, "Holy shit, we're in City 17!".

And we were. We really, really were. We swear that Valve must have taken Leipzig as singular inspiration when designing Half-Life 2's Combine-controlled metropolis. It looks exactly like City 17. Take these photos as our evidence.

    I love half the comments on Gamesradar... "completely fake" no shit i mean anyone can tell that is the case, i think it is a nice comparison and i like the added in Half-Life 2 creatures for comic effect.

    Oh and nice photo's Steel.

    In reference to that BlackLabel, there is a game where you try to post something totally inane on the internet without saying something like /sarcasm and see how many people still take you seriously - Hint: far too many.

    Steel, those pictures are pretty sweet, and if I have any free time at work today, I'll see about photoshopping some combine soldiers or something into them - with your permission of course.
