Those NES games were the real deal back in the day. thezengeek.com covers 21 of the most epic endings, which not surprisingly were some of the best games for the system. From somebody who has never completed Super Mario Bros. 3, it's nice to finally see the princess saved.

    if by 'epic' you really mean unrewarding, disappointing, and shallow.
    NES games were more about the journey than the destination.

    Oh man I saw an awesome NES ending on screw attack but I forget what game it was...

    It was an incredibly difficult game and the ending was like two sentences in Engrish. It was something like "Peace has been brought to entire galaxy. A winner is you."
