Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time
12 hours 42 mins ago
Not exactly mind blowing, but something which I found rather interesting. As many of you may know cosplay is huge in Japan, whether for anime, manga or videogames all are represented. So big is it in fact stores and companies exist soley to sell merchandise for such costumes, this one known as 9mm Special Effects deals specificly in contact lenses. Some examples from Naruto are attached, but check the site attached to the source for more.

yes i do wear it with my real one, but only when i go out
I'd probably think the person was demon possessed or something if I saw someone walking down the road like that!
Can anyone(Especially you Salvador Dog since you bought them) tell me power means under options when looking at a specific contact. The one I see has an option for "plano" power. I guess it could be "piano" but then the dot is connected, or is uppercase for some reason. Even if that were the case, it really still wouldn't make sense.
Anyway, the Mirrored ones are awesome, and I'd love to get an eye trauma one and pop it in when I'm at a friends house. I'd love to see their reaction. That's a hell of a lot of money for a simple gag though.
because last time i checked you can't see through a mirror....nope you can't, just checked.
the answer to your power question.... power is the amount of corrective power they put into it, like real contacts.
i need to remember things better. yes i have, i just thought those would be kinda thick and wouldn't fit inside lenses
These contacts have been around for ages.. :\
And to be honest, the Naruto ones look really fake...(My friend purchased them. They didn't look 'AWESOME', just... REALLY RED D: )
fail narutard is fail btw
Companies don't come out with new consoles and peripherals every year, as opposed to yearly conventions. And unless you choose to reuse a costume, they can't be worn over and over again as opposed to a gaming platform (be it console or PC). Games can also be returned or resold. And considering costume prices can run between three to four digits, nevermind the cost of driving/flying to the location of each convention, room & board (since most of these people would stay for more than one day)... see where I'm going with this?
I had some trouble trying to decipher what that "15" in your comment was, and I now assume you meant 15 games? Assuming you own a PS3 or Xbox 360 and all your games cost $64 (that's including tax). 15 games a year at $64 each is still only $940. Those contact lenses are $100 or more each. Then add that to the REST of the outfit.
Note I'm not talking about someone who just cosplays a couple times per year, or every few years. I'm talking about the hardcore folks, as suggested in my original comment:
"...who seem to have dedicated their lives to cosplay..."
I'm sure there are more expensive hobbies out there. Cosplaying is just one of the few that totally boggles my mind.
I know what you was saying in the post I replied, I just stated you can also say the same for games.
Granted, these types of gamers or collectors aren't widespread, sure, but again you could make the case that its similar.
Some people think Cosplaying is a waste of time and money, and some people feel the same about games. I think both are awesome, and glad they're apart of today's world.
This could go on forever, but it's not going to because I am walking away from this potential trap. We'll keep it at, "Some people like to cosplay as much as others like to game."
Good day, sir.
Yeah, I'd like some of them, but damn, I wish I had normal vision, so I could just get non-corrective lenses >_>
I liked some of the anime ones a fair bit, but yeah, the other ones on the site were cooler (mirrored lenses FTW)....
