Wow. I don't know if I should spoil the surprise of this attached picture of Mega Man. Before scrolling down, take a good hard look at that picture. Now here is some spoiler space.

It's menstrual fluid :o

According to the artist, "eluted", the canvas was a request from her husband. This begs the question: What the *bleep* is wrong with her husband?! If you love Mega Man, fine! But for the love of God...crayons! Colored Pencils! Watercolors! ANYTHING ELSE!

To be honest the question should be "What is wrong with the artist?", out of curiousity I checked her deviantart account that was linked in the article and there are several paintings done by her in...the same fluid.

So this isn't just a one off thing or a strange request. If anything she must have either a) done this before and the husband liked the outcome and so requested his own painting or b) the reverse of that where he requested the painting and then she decided to make others afterward.

In any case, they are either both crazy or japenese

Why is menstrual fluid bad or NSFW? When I saw the image, I actually assumed it would be menstrual blood actually. 4 years of art school leaves very little left to the imagination.

    Silly boys.

Im with you. I think menstrual fluid is pretty kick ass.

This is actually a niche method of painting..I've seen a nice bit of it hehe. That its Mega Man is what makes it insane/weird/awesome.

The fact is, artists and people atudying art aren't freaked out by this but to the everyday folk it is strange as hell. I keep an open mind to things and well I have seen some pretty messed up things but Menstrual fluid for painting would never had crossed my mind.

Certainly puts a perspective upon a monthly painting

I've seen this artist before, a couple of years ago. She has some unique and impressive pieces, despite being clearly bonkers.

I don't get what the big deal here is. Personally I don't see anything so disgusting about the medium. Using blood or menstrual blood for a medium actually isn't as uncommon as most of you think. Me being in art college for the past few years I've seen quite some bizarre mediums.

Yeah, like the album artwork for Metallica's Load and ReLoad albums? Now that is gross.

Well I guess we shouldn't find cannibalism gross then. There's a cannibalistic tribe so they wouldn't find it odd so I guess we shouldn't find it gross then because a whole tribe does it.

Did you seriously just compare murdering and eating a human to drawing/painting a picture with an odd medium? What the hell is that suppose to mean? Are you comparing artists to cannibalistic tribes?

God you're *bleep*ing stupid. People have been painting and drawing with blood for quite a long time, it's not an uncommon medium at all. Me being an artist and looking at several bizarre pieces of art, it's alot more common than you think. I've seen quite beautiful portraits done in blood. And in most occasions such as this, the blood isn't forcibly taken, it's used willingly by the artist or by someone who wishes to contribute to that artist's work. Yeah sure, blood isn't exactly my choice of a medium, neither is menstrual blood for a Megaman picture, but to compare it to cannibalism is even more ridiculous than the art piece itself.

Blood is blood, regardless of which body part it comes from. I bet you if this guy never mentioned that this blood came from his wife's vagina, nobody would really give a shit about this.

I don't think so either. Its just that he specified it came from her menstrual blood thats kinda gross. But hey, new, interesting ways to make art I guess. But Mega Man? God. That's even more bizarre.

I'm not comparing anything. You and everyone thumbing you up is missing the point.

The point is, some of you think others are weird/silly, whatever, because they think the pic is gross while fellow artists don't.There's nothing to be shocked about others feeling differently.

My point is that just because some of us find it gross, doesn't mean people who don't, should be shocked simply for the fact that this pic may be considered normal to them.

Should I think eating bugs is not gross simply for the fact that certain tribes would do it on a regular basis? No I find it gross, but that doesn't make those tribes silly or anything like that. It's just what they do.

I'm not going to all of a sudden think the pic is not gross just because a few artists on this site think we shouldn't find it gross.

We already get your point, and your "point" was actually rather "pointless". Not only that but provided with a ridiculous example.

Never said I was shocked, never called anybody silly, never called anybody weird. Just simply said I don't see a big deal, and I PERSONALLY (I repeat, PERSONALLY) didn't see anything too disgusting about the medium. We know why your average person would be grossed out by it. Only person I recall here calling people silly is RabidChinaGirl, and I'm sure she was just joking around and didn't mean any offense by it. Where in my post did I say I thought people were weird or silly for thinking this was weird? Did any artist here say you should think like us? Can you read our thoughts? No, you're making VERY bad assumptions. This is a perfect example of the ol' saying "Assume makes an ASS out of U and ME".

And before you go off saying I assumed you were comparing artists to cannibals, that is why I asked what was your saying suppose to mean.

Meh whatever floats their boat but then again I ain't an artist or into the graphical scene, unless it is writing in graphic detail

I suppose it would be worse if it was done in someone else's blood but then that would open up a murder investigation XD

So, an artist uses her menstrual fluid(or blood rather) and paints Mega Man? I'm no artist, but I must be the only non artist here who doesn't see what's the grossness of this. Don't get me wrong, there's something else with this I can find unorthodox and unappealing to me, but it wouldn't have to do with games.

Then again rarely anything grosses me out.
