Early this week Shonen Jump featured a small spread featuring brand new gameplay images for Final Fantasy XIII. V-Jump have taken their coverage a step further showing yet more new gameplay images as well as revealing the name of the red-haired girl to be Oerba Dia Vanille, contrary to speculation that she would be called Vanilla.

Judging from the the large field image on the second scan enemies will show an exclamtion mark over their heads when they spot Lightning and the party.

It looks like the characters flash orange to instigate a battle too.

I'm hoping someone translates the captions under the gameplay images since it looks like they explain how battles works.

Yeah, I want to know more about the battle system as well. Other than that, the screen shots look great.

*Embarks on an epic quest to find FFXIII related news which will wipe Cruxis Mana off teh internets!*

MORE GOOD NEWS! I kinda like the names. Theres been better within Final Fantasy games but they are still solid and sound cool in my opinion.

I don't think the names are all that bad. I don't get why everyone is going off about them.

yeah the names are not that bad but there has been better in the final fantasy series but i just hope the game is going to be a long one because if it dosent take up like 80+ hours of my life than im not really going to like it because i dont really care for short games because you play through thim a few times and then your bored again.
