ever wonder if games such as Sonic, Mario or Mega Man used some sort of Cell Shading? And pulled it off beautifully? Well if anything, this is how they might look like. These were all created by Mikaël Aguirre, a fan of these games and they sure do look beautiful. If anything, Nintendo should consider making games with these type of graphics.

Mmmm... not too shabby. I'm quite fond of the Zelda and Sonic paintings. If Metroid could actually look like that, it would make for one hell of a game.

How can you not like Mega Man? That's just plain wrong. Haha.
Oh, and the art is pretty damn cool as well.

I never got into it. I grew up playing Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, and Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball, I didn't have an urge to play any other games until the 64 came out. I never wanted to play Mega Man growing up and its never really changed.

Ah I gotcha. If you started on the SNES, you missed the heyday of Mega Man games. Not that the X series was bad, but it doesn't hold a candle to 2 and 3 for the old NES. You are forgiven

Lol, I've played one Mega Man game and it was on the Gameboy advanced and wasn't even a sidescrolling game.

    Wow.... just... wow.

I love the A Link to the Past one. In fact, I wouldn't mind playing through the game like that.

    Also...

That's cell shading? I didn't see anything in the source that mentioned cell shading.

I can draw Toon Link on a piece of paper, but that doesn't make it cell shading.

Same goes with Toon Link in Brawl.

It isn't cell shading but it looks similar too it. But if they make a game with those type of graphics, it looks like they would use some sort of cell shading. Im no dev but that is what I would do.

Aren't things that are pre-rendered, like Pixar films or the L4D intro video? Not games where you can do more than one set thing?

Ha nice, he would probably need some hefty software to do those though (assuming they are digitally drawn)
