New Final Fantasy XIII Character Revealed - Meet Sazh Katzroy and His Baby Chocobo!

A brand new Final Fantasy XIII character has been revealed in the latest issue of V-Jump magazine. Meet Sazh Katzroy and his adorable Baby Chocobo!

The latest issue of V-Jump has been released and with it comes a scan of a brand new Final Fantasy XIII character. In the scan we can see him fighting in a battle with Lightning which is the first time we've seen a battle with more than one character in the party. BlankChocobo has translated more details from the scan:

"His name is 'Sazh Katzroy', and he is a middle aged man. He dual wields pistols, has a baby chocobo, is a gentle hearted person easily moved to tears, possesses good judgment and a sense of social responsibility."

    I predict sad plot point where he must part ways with his baby and he'll go weep in a corner with Vanille while Lightning rolls her eyes and Snow ogles his Shivas.

      Kind of like that episode of Pokemon where Ash had to part ways with Pikachu. So sad.
      As long as Baby Chocobo doesn't get killed, I'll be ok with a considerably-less-sad parting of ways scene. I really don't want to see Baby Chocobo get killed... oh poo, now I've got it in my head that he might die. He's just so tiny... he can be squished so easily... little adorable thing ... gawd, I want one.



      Sazh looks awesome. He's my favorite FFXIII character so far, just based on appearance.

        Either that or I'm personally expecting that perhaps he will end up dying, but before he dies he will ask a character to take care of his chocobo.

    Dammit. Now I want a baby chocobo... They're awfully tiny when you compare them to the adult thing though. >_> Maybe they grow really, really fast?

    I was skeptical of this character upon first hearing of him, but I like him now.

    Man, when was the last time they had a black main charecter or any black person at all in a final fantasy? Barrett me thinks? Its a welcomed change regardless, any guy that doesnt have long hair or look like a woman is a plus

    How the hell would such big birds have such small young? I mean ostriches have huge eggs they aren't half the size of a Chocobo.

    Still its cute and I love the character design, hes different if nothing else.

    If people wish to drop by the thread in the Final Fantasy XIII forum, there's some new images of Sazh, Lightning and a completely irrelevant little refugee boy.

    Update: I was right, Internet lies, this is actually a Weekly Shonen Jump scan, not V-Jump. The new images, however, ARE likely to be from V-Jump.

    Moral of the story: I am always right and Internet is not.

      No, this game has absolutely nothing to do with any other FF. Sazh is a completely new and unique character as are all the other cast in the game. The only single character to appear repeatedly in each FF game is Cid. Even then, Cid is a different character from game to game he is merely just present.
