There are two things that happen when you convert video game weapons from pixels to steel. The first is you get to see how cool they look, and the second? Well that’s usually how impractical they are to use. Ever try to pick up a sword that weighs more than you? You won’t win many boss battles, believe me. Here are twelve weapons that have made the jump all the way to real life, and why you might buy them.

      lol wonder what would happen if you shot a portal at a person! I like the Doom gun looks cool. Wouldn't mind shooting a something with that gun.

    I think someone should make the Quake 2 BFG. Now that was a BFG. Seeing that giant slow moving ball of death was the best part of multiplayer in that game.

    In fact in one match dueing a LAN party I was running around with one and I saw a friend of mine running across a bridge and he sees me. So I fired off my shot and watched the pretty ball go flying way. Then strangely I saw my ball turn a 180 and start coming back towards me. Well to my surprise my friend had fired his BFG at exactly the same time I had. And they passed through each other in mid flight. Was the most spectacularly unbelievable thing ever. That we both happened to have the BFG, we both fired at the same time, and on the same angle the odds are staggering. Needless to say we both died but to hear the "Oh shiii..." in stereo was quite amusing.

    The plasma cutter would have been sick if they added some lasor type lights. and teh AC sword is awesome, but I have seen much better swords in my day.

    The Majestic Sword has a lovely handle to it. Also like the Energy Sword, interesting design. The WoW one is such an overdone design really.

    The WoW sword is Frostmourne, Arthas' weapon. And that Gears' Lancer he posted was featured somewhere -- Kotaku, I think. It's actually made from a NERF gun and toy chainsaw. Interesting to see a list including both professional/official merchandise and backyard creations.

    The coolest thing is the Master Sword. Oh god I want it, even though it doesn't look 100% real. The Halo assualt rifle would also look mad on my shelves

      that Master Sword isnt as cool as the one this other guy made, it had a blue/purple handle and looked better. he posted here on Neo a little bit ago..

    The Warthog looks so awesome it's unreal.

    And I want that Energy Sword. Just a quick lightening bolt to it, and you're away...

      Of course it doesn't work. It has no barrel for the bullet to travel down. And firing blanks isn't going to do extra damage.

      sure the gunblade works. and the Energy sword is made of energy just like in the game.
