WTF? Ninja Gaiden 2 coming to PS3?

Perhaps this shouldn't come as much a surprise as the title makes it out to be. Sigma after all, a port of the first game made its way to PS3. Still its certainly out the blue, a recent scan of a Japanese mag depicting a upgraded version of Ninja Gaiden 2 is to hit the PS3. According to the translation available at the alternative source it will come complete with new bosses, weapons and playable characters.

    Games quite terrible anyway so it's hardly a loss.

          Kojima is a whore; Itagaki infuriates but speaks openly and honestly. And he isn't a whore. I don't think he takes himself very seriously -- if you want to do that, that's your deal...

    Anyhow, not too surprised. I have Sigma, but ehhh, I was terrible with it, so I never completed it. Won't be getting the sequel, needless to say ~_~

        Nah, never did Ninja Dog. I did the Easy mode I think?

        I made it partway through level two, beat the horseman boss, but with so little health left, I couldn't clear the next area, I eventually gave up.

        Yeah, but we still got the first as a Sigma anyway. This was one of there go-to bullshit-arguments 'We have Ninja Gaiden 2, you never will.' Now, we do (well, will).

          I'm not defending them, I'm just saying no 360 fanboy is really going to give a shit. NGII disgraced the series, simple as that. Personally, Team Ninja can go PS3 exclusive for all I care, they're aren't getting my money anymore.

      True, that is a whore-worthy. But Itagaki said a million times over that after the first Sigma's outcome he wouldn't let Ninja Gaiden go to PS3, at all. Yet here it is.

        I assume that was when he was with the company...I can't see why he would have any control over it now. Here's an old interview:

        Does that mean we'll never see NGII on PS3?

        Itagaki: No because it's a 360 exclusive.

        But Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden: Black were Xbox exclusives at the time...

        Itagaki: We've announced it as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but I don't own Tecmo the company. But if that were to ever happen it would be a loss of face for everyone involved.

          So? When you describe something as your most beautiful and grand creation and say it will never be befouled again because it is just too awesome, only to up and leave it because NG2 wasn't as well received and sue who it was left with because you want to dash with your money instead of making a better game, you're a dirty sell-out.

    lmao I actually thought it was a pretty fun game. *bleep*ing hard though. In fact, I ended up getting too frustrated and sending it back to gamefly without even beating it. I feel like I've committed some sort of gamer sin.

    Still, it's a solid game. Good or not, I'm sure this makes a ton of people happy, haha. I remember a lot of pissed people when this was announced 360 exclusive.

    Maybe this'll give me incentive to finally get off my butt and beat the damn game - so my I can tell my PS3-owning friends how the game is overall. Seemed good so far, just one of those that I put down and never got the urge to pick up again. I do have a kick-ass wall scroll hanging in my kitchen, though, from when I ordered it =D

    I sure as hell wasn't impressed with Sigma. Let the gameplay consist of overpowered swarms of lesser grunts and top it off with impossible bosses. I remember retrying the last boss about 30 times...in Normal mode, just not worth the frustration.

    To be honest most people saying it is a bad game are those that could beat Ninja Gaiden/Black/Sigma but couldn't beat Ninja Gaiden 2 because they made the game even harder. As most people know the original Xbox Ninja Gaiden was a very hard game but making it harder does that make a bad game? Not in my opinion all the more reason to complete it.

      Does sound that way, doesn't it? I agree with what Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation) said about Ninja Gaiden. He described it as a ridiculously difficult game, and one of the few that still cater to the massively hardcore gamer.

      First one on original Xbox made me wanna kill myself while playin', but I appreciate the franchise for that.
