As long as we're on the subject of the cover art, I actually don't like the general "classic" cover arts you get on games, that reach that status; classic pc games, or platinum for the playstation for example. All they do, is put a border around it, and shrink the picture down, write classic in big letters. It's pretty off putting man, it doesnt look classic, it looks like "jimmy and the magic ant adventure for pre schoolers and the mentally defficient" sort of game you find in the pound shop under the second hand bras. oh yes many a summer day spent in there. Point being if it's claiming classicness, make it epic, make it awesome to look at man. Make it look like it deserves it's status. That doesnt look classic to me. I see that, and I think, all they're doing is milking it. Fair enough man, but at least try not to make it too obvious.

For once I think I actually agree with you, carouselambra. The border has ruined me from buying Dead Rising. My Gamestop hasn't had a used copy for about a month now and they don't get new copies anymore, my only alternative is Bestbuy. Unfortunately they only have the Classic cover art and I will not purchase it because of how ugly it is. I know it doesn't have anything to do with the game, but if people look at my game boxes I like them to look better than what's being used instead.

Or they could do what Nintendo did with NPC and print the normal artwork on the other side of the paper.

yeh man, If you know it's an awesome game then it doesnt really matter too much, that's just down to aesthetics. But if you dont know the game, it doesnt look "classic" at first glance, it's a shame man, people get put off before they've even played it. Judging the book by it's cover, but that's what people do with games; that's the whole point of cover art.

You aren't buying games based on the border that makes it cheaper?

I'm glad they're making Mass Effect one of the classics. I still feel like that game didn't get the attention it deserved, or at least the 360 version didn't.

I need to play Mass Effect...

All are deserving of classic status imo.
