I know it wasn't intentional, and has been a long time since it happened, and has nowt to do with Japan, but September 11th as a release date? Couldn't have made it 10th or 12th?

I think the release all their new games on a Friday, so it's not a matter of what day, just which week.

Well ofc it is coming back, it'd be kinda wierd if they leave out half of the game for the remake

Skateboard, huh? Is it going to replace the bike? I'd be fine with it,skateboards are cooler than bikes anyway.

Well, I guess yay for a tad bit more canon stuff manga related (gold used a skateboard, later Dismantled it and made a scooter out of it)

...Is anyone else pissed about the new girl design?

Oh my goodness Kris... what have the done to you? And why are you dressed like Mario?

At least her hair is kinda similar.

Meh. It's not like I'm going to be playing as the female character anyway. I'll try and not cover myself with info on these game so everything can be a nice surprise when I play the game next year.

A skateboard, eh? If it replaces the bicycle then it will be really cool!

And we're going back to Kanto...wonder will there be a complete makeover instead of just those two places...

    Here'a a view of the new touch screen interface;

Looks to me like you access everything via the touch screen rather than it popping up on the top screen.

      Big A2 May 14, 09
I hope it's like Chrono Trigger where the touch control is optional and you can control everything with buttons anyway.

Yeh man I reckon so, if you look closely in the bottom right corner you can see "A" on the red button. "A" meaning the Ds's A button I presume.

How is kanto hinted at, is it a picture or info or what man?

The game wouldn't be a remake without Kanto in it, the original had johto AND kanto, 16 badges FTW

Yeh defintly, of course man. I'm just curious as to what the hint in these scans is for it's return. I doubt they'd leave it out, but it'd be nice to see the proof.

If it wasnt for the DSI, I would have though they'd do multiple-regions via the GBA slot and firered/leafgreen ruby/sapphire, plugging em in allowing you to travel to the regions, instead of a pal park. Make use of some compatibility; that's the whole point of the remake - compatibility with the new generation. Otherwise you might as well get the old gameboy out and play the original. But like I said man, the Dsi makes that idea redundant.

          Big A2 May 16, 09
That would be stupid. Why not just put the regions in there anyway? Why have to own one game to unlock large parts of another?

But like you said, the DSi makes that unlikely anyway, so it's no big deal.

          CAROUSELAMBRATIMES3 May 16, 09
Nah man it's stupid the way they're doing it now. Why in Christ's name are they gonna make a remake if it's not fully compatible with the new generations? That's one way of making it compatible; if you own the games you get something extra, if you don't then you lose nothing from the experience. If they're gonna make it so those games are obsolete, then why did they make them? Doesnt matter man, what matters is they DID. so if they are able to make them compatible, why shouldnt they? Not neccessarily specifically in that way, but in some way that actually aknowledges them and makes them necessary. Other than just trading. if you're gonna do just trading, then there need to be version specific ones you cant get anywhere else. You can get em all anywhere. Theres no exclusivity any more. They're making their own games obsolete man. Thats no fun to play, and it wont make em any money. i dont see who wins here.

They could make the games available for download on DSI, and do it like that, but again, not likely.

If by "the new generations" you mean Diamond, Pearl and Platnum, then I'm sure you will be able to interact with those games much like Ruby and Sapphire could with FireRed and LeafGreen.

But if by "the new generations" you mean the older GBA games, then I doubt they'll be much compatability with them.

          CAROUSELAMBRATIMES3 May 17, 09
By new generations, I mean everything GBA onwards. Everything that's compatible with each other at the moment. I've already got a copy of silver that I can't trade with anything. Except yellow What would I wanna buy another one for; I don't think it's enough just to be remade man. There's no joy in that. Needs to actually be enjoyable. I'm a bit past it for pokemon anyway, I'll admit. But still man, that's no excuse for em to be making games that we played ten years ago. Needs to be something new, something relevant. Something of some use. Even if that use is just enjoyment. But JUST nostalgia, is not enough, if you ask me.

The game in my opinion is going to be great. Loved Gold when it was first released so I'm sure I'll like it just as much now.

I will admit though I would rather have a brand new generation, but its still a Pokemon game so I'll still like it.
