Nintendo has released the concept art of the next Legend of Zelda game for the Wii first shown off by Shigeru Miyamoto at his E3 2009 Developer's Roundtable.

On June 2nd, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed the first bit of concept art for the next Legend of Zelda game on the Wii during a Developer's Roundtable. Those in attendance described the image by saying it featured an older Link standing in front of a wall while a spritely girl with blue skin stood next to him.

Nintendo has now released the same image for public consumption.

Judging by that picture, I would have to say that she probably plays the midna or Navi roll.

she looks alot like the fairy queen from TWW. Also, she may be the embodiment of the master sword itself judging by the design she has under her cloak.

That definitely could be true. The way she's positioned behind Link right where the Master Sword used to sit on its strap does make it seem like she could be. Also, her head seems to be right where the hilt of the sword was.

Link's right hand is very clampy.

Maybe that's why he doesn't have his sword?

But why his right hand? Isn't he primarily a left-handed swordsman? At least, in most LoZ games he is.

In Japan its good luck to be left handed so most of their game characters are left handed, your character is left handed in Monster hunter too.

Huh, maybe I should move to Japan to receive some of that good luck then.

Wouldn't know about Monster Hunter, but that's cool that there's a reason behind Link being left-handed. He's one of the few I see who's a left-handed swordsman.

he was left handed for the wii.

If you played TP for the Gamecube you'd realize he's still a lefty, but since the majority of people are right handed and would use the wii for slashing and stuff, they made him a righty.

Never knew why he was a left though, thats very interesting.

          Wait, what?

Also, in the first few games where the left and right sprites were just fliped he was "both handed".

oh sorry I got mixed up, but I said he was a righty in my second sentence.

          And isn't it called ambidextrous?

They actually mirrored the entire game map of the Wii release of Twilight Princess to accommodate for Link's change in handiness. It's literally the opposite of the GameCube version. And, yep, ambidextrous is the correct word!

I like this new concept art, but personally I preferred the Twilight Princess concept art, that flame effect doesn't suit Link if you ask me.

The girl looks like a human-shaped sword in my opinion.

Very mysterious. She looks much like the fairy queen on the Wind Waker. Maybe there is some sort of connection?

Perhaps it could link Twilight Princess and Wind Waker together?

but hasn't it been stated that TP and WW are 2 seperate Zelda universes that take place in the same time?

Like OoT was the prequel and it went either 2 ways, Hyrule flooded and became WW, or Ganon was defeated and led up to the events in TP.

So I don't think the 2 games are related. But the whole zelda timeline is a mess.

Yeah, aren't all LoZ games set in alternate universes with recurring themes (Zelda, Link, Hyrule, races, Master Sword, etc.) unless if they're direct sequels, like OoT and MM?

I like the look of Link, but it all depends on what the graphics look like in-game.

    An old Link. D:
If this girl is a new Midna/Navi I pray to God she isn't annoying. >.>
