It's probably safe to say most of us anticipated the upcoming Prince of Persia movie (now subtitled The Sands of Time, apparently) would be a total bomb. You'd think a couple movie posters wouldn't change anyones mind either, but lo and behold, they have...

The movie will be out May 28, 2010.

Ugh....I am not a big fan of Jake Gylenhaal...and this is a Disney Movie?....

I don't think Disney sucks or anything, but I just don't think they're is going to make a very good Prince of Persia movie... I have low expectations for this, honestly...

I like him in Donnie Darko, I feel he was amazing in that. Don't really know about anything else.

Yeah Disney thing is off-putting but that's just a money thing really -- director/writers are what matter..Mike Newell is directing..he did Donnie Brasco.
Carlo Bernard is doing the screenplay, he's assisted on The Insider, Heat, and The Last of the Mohicans (all amazing films) -- wrote The Great Raid and The Uninvited but I don't know anything about those.

Actually, now that I think about it, I shouldn't have said I don't like Jake Gylenhaal. What I meant to say is that I don't think he'll do well portraying the main character in PoP.

I'll admit to watching most of Brokeback Mountain(and enjoying it, as a heterosexual male, even), and I thought his performance was great from what I saw.

Also, I didn't know who was directing it. Donnie Brasco was a great movie, so I think that bodes quite well for this film.

I didn't think he would either til I saw the poster -- at the least, he's got the look down.. though I think someone confused Sands of Time with Warrior Within.
Actually yeah, just because of that, I predict this movie will not be good. Haha.

          I don't have a "talking about" -- what's that?

That's the Warrior Within attire isn't it?

Oh god, please don't say they're basing the film on that. It wasn't a terrible game but as a movie, with all the crazy rock music and women dressed as strippers which so ruined the PoP feel (for me anyway)... ugh.

In the first poster I could do without the "defy the future" text and the Disney logo :S the second one looks like a magazine ad for perfume.
