Alan Wake has changed quite a bit since it was first announced in 2005. Here is a look at how Alan Wake himself and the look of the game has changed over the last few years...

Remedy Entertainment stirred the hype when they announced Alan Wake in 2005 as an exclusive for XBox 360. Since then, the game has undergone numerous delays and re-workings in both the main character’s appearance and the overall art-style of the game. Each subsequent reveal of the game has been spread between 2005, 2006 and 2008 with the game’s “final” look revealed in 2009. A release date of 2010 has been announced but until then, check out how the game has undergone it’s transformations in what will culminate in more than 5 years of trailers and teasers.

Well, based on that image, it looks like it got brighter and brighter. D: I just hope it doesn't blind the players when it gets released.

All 4 of the pictures look awesome though. Heck, even the 2005 version looks pretty good.

They are pretty much the same they bumped up the texture detail on Mr. Wake but that is about it. It's not a massive change but that is Remedy for you, they will literally spend 4 years on the story and while everyone else is thinking "oh the graphics are gonna be sweet, 5 years of work" they are left disappointed because Remedy only care about gameplay and story.

Oh, so I must have been the only one who thought Max Payne 2 looked outstanding for a 2003 PC game.

It was a very good looking game but there is a difference. Max Payne 2 was a sequel, they had already perfected the gameplay and the story was a mere continuation. You can work on the graphics when the hard work has been done before hand. Many developers don't do that though and merely make the game the best looking thing on planet regardless of how bad the rest is.

That's because most devs dish out generic storylines nowadays for generic games that apparently works and gets most people to buy their games.

They need to hire some truly awesome authors who can dish out an excellent story that will end up developing a huge following!

Why do news on Alan Wake keep appearing on the PS3 side of GameGrep? To rub it in the PS3 owners' collective face?

Anyways, looks good. Go, Remedy, go, Finland!

Because when the game first went into development it was a PS3 title, it was then considered multiplatform and it is now an Xbox 360 exclusive. It's merely the database hasn't been updated.

I thought it was Multiplatform, then moved to 360 exclusive, then back to multiplatform again . . . So it's still just exclusive, right?

It's the Xbox's answer to Heavy Rain says the fanboy to my right.

I like Alan Wake, it looks interesting and fresh. It used to be on PS3 & tbh i wish it still was but oh well.

As good as Alan Wake will be it will never be as deep as Heavy Rain.

Sucks that Microsoft killed the PC version for the game. I was really looking forward to buying it.
