There have been many complaints about Bayonetta's tiny head, weird proportions and giant body.

Website The Zeonic Front decided to fix her. The first picture is the original Bayonetta, the second picture is the 'fixed' Bayonetta...

Her head is too damn small and her body too damn big. If they fix this, then I'm in.

I did my own Photoshop work to see what she would look like with more normal proportions and this was what I came up with.

Seriously, what the *bleep* is with all these complaints? It's as though people have never seen video game characters before. Hey, everyone:

    SHUT THE HELL UP.

      Agreed.

Although all of the "issues" being raised are only so noticeably bad because in every screenshot she is standing with her shoulders rolled back. Posture that shit is going to have an effect on how you look.

RCG, but it's hilarious to keep mentioning it Lol

It's like one of those things Bayonetta will never live down.

      Acceptable Sexism.

If that said RabidChinaBoy and she wasn't defending a slutty game, it wouldn't have gotten 1 thumb.

I've seen slutty games, and Bayonetta isn't it. It's really just a sexy game, and I see nothing wrong with that. The proportions are off, but remember what they did to Faith? Why doesn't anyone bother photo-editing male characters to look more "normal"? It's just the goddamn aesthetic of the game! AND WE'VE SEEN SO MUCH WORSE.

I look forward to this game because the gameplay was interesting, aesthetics are appealing, and Bayonetta's got some sweet-ass moves. I'm not going to bitch about her head being too small if I can play as Chris Redfield or Cole Train without batting an eyelash.

And Tiger, if girls getting lots of thumbs-up on a comment bothers you, just remake your username. I'm pretty sure it won't help you wrack up any more props though.

Trust me, if I was originally Tigress of Wu it really would have helped xD It doesn't bother me though, it tickles me, it's just called carrying on a joke ;P

To clarify though, I have no problem with her having a tiny head. That's a very small part of why this game makes me sick. It's what it represents. Gameplay wise it's a large step back from DMC (unless if whoever released the demo was completely retarded, but 99% of the time demos are accurate enough gameplay wise so I'll trust it since it coincides with what I've heard from reviews and previews and whatnot) even though it's meant to be it's successor. Story wise, it's a freaking disgrace unless if there's some major twist they've kept from absolutely everyone (including the people who've played through the whole game) which is, of course, nigh on impossible. Yeah, it looks good graphically but that doesn't matter anywhere near as much as the other two meaning the only thing this game has going for it is the sex appeal. If sex appeal can sell a game on the level this is set to be at and already is at, then it's just a massive reminder of how shit the gaming industry is and, more importantly, it's an example retards are going to follow on with.

FPSs became popular: we were swamped with FPSs. The Wii sold like a chocolate vibrator: Sony and Microsoft start working on their own waggle peripherals. Bayonetta sells like a bitch for the only reason that it's slutty (no, it isn't sexy. Sexiness has subtlety and class, things this game has none of): people are going to follow suit.

          Simple. As. That.

Some have valid reasons for disliking the game, sure. The head proportion though -- what the hell, people?! It's a video game. -__- I don't see why people aren't scrambling to redo Lara Croft's waistline, every DMC female character's leg proportions, male leads' biceps, Peach's stick arms, etc.

I mean, is Bayonetta supposed to be a realistic game? Guess I missed THAT memo.

Disclaimer: Comments are not directed as you nor meant to be taken as arguments. Just my thoughts on the whole "BAYONETTA IS DEFORMED WAAAAH" trend.

Well the primary 'thing' of the game is the woman and the fact she's meant to be this perfect, sexy person, thus if people are shallow enough to care about the game to the point where they want to focus on it this much then they're obviously going to be the type of shallow person who cares about that kind of thing.

Think about the target audience for this game: People who were told she was perfect and want to watch her wiggle her fanny around the place.

What else can we expect from these people?

Seriously, the guy said he didn't want to play because of this, how pathetic! A game should be criticized for how it plays, not the proportions of the character! That has no relevance to how the game plays, unless it somehow affected the gameplay in a negative fashion, fine, but Bayonetta is going to fight the exact same way regardless of if they fix this or not.

        ZL Oct 30, 09
I think the Photoshopped one looks better, but her head is slightly bigger. Anyways, I think a lot of us are bitching cause I've read somewhere that Bayonetta's creators brag about her beauty and shit. So, it's only natural and expecting for everyone else to give feedback on it. Thing is though, it's negative because we don't agree. Seriously, there is something totally wrong with that woman, how did they *bleep* up?

          HisServant77 Oct 31, 09
Lol, true. I think one of the devs said Bayonetta was the Perfect Woman?

Of course, I think he was talking mostly about the perfect woman for him personally, and meant a lot about the personality and not just how she looked.

    Seeker X Oct 30, 09
This is the first time I've seen more complaints about a half naked picture of a hot female character. I'm not a fan of DMC OR Bayonetta, but even I can appreciate the developer's subtle, perverted intentions here.

Then people must've forgotten all about the 90% of all Japanese female character models/designs then.

...who compares VG characters to human beings? You're going off in your own train of thought, as everyone here already expects stuff like this from Japanese developers.

Tiger of Wu Nov 2, 09
I believe, Euphoric, it is you who needs to read the comments again carefully [/British smack talk]

Nobody has compared her to real life people. That was the point.

Though, it should probably be stated, Bayonetta isn't overdone because of how she dresses; it's everything else that makes her much worse than the rest of them.

          Euphoric Nov 3, 09
I said people were complaining about her proportions being off and Seeker then brought up other Jap video game characters, clearly insinuating that she is the same as all of them. Draw whatever conclusion you want from that, but what he said meant people should be remembering that all Jap video game characters have funny proportions; To which I replied the problem is they aren't and think she should look like a perfectly proportioned person, which is, as you've both already agreed with, pretty ridiculous in this instance.

Correction. I was replying to th overblown reaction to such a trivial issue and how it's nothing (subtle), (especially compared to other oversexed characters (DoA chicks? NG's Rachel??? Anyone??????), then YOU come along and try to convince me how it's actually a big deal.

...where you came up with this whole "comparing characters to actual people" is beyond me.

          quote
which is, as you've both already agreed with, pretty ridiculous in this instance.
...eh, no I didn't? In fact, this whole thing you're desperately trying to convince ME of couldn't be any more trivial.

          Miss Razz Nov 4, 09
I think people are mostly complaining/lol'ing at the fact that the devs are trying so hard to convince gamers that Bayonetta is this perfect, sexy, desirable woman (Bayonetta's scantily clad outfits, stripping her naked during gameplay, the multiple in-game crotch shots, her innuendo-filled talk, etc) when she's actually kinda weird to look at.
The devs have intentionally made Bayonetta's appearance over the top, while at the same time trying to prove that she's the epitome of sex appeal. Which makes her bizarre to look at.

What, Euphoric, does the size of her head have to do with subtle perversion, pray tell?

      Edit: Wrong reply button.

        Euphoric Nov 4, 09
What does the size of her head have to do with the size of her disproportionately large hips and breasts, pray tell?

And seeker, not once have I said it's a big deal. You said the devs were being subtly perverted. I pointed out how most people's "issues" are that she is disproportionately unsubtle in a vain attempt to be sexual. Anything after that was people misconstruing a tongue in cheek observation of your original comment.

Of course, you're not "most people" since you're not overusing the word "disproportioned" and have been going on about how incredibly ridiculous she looks. Actually I think that was pretty much the reason why you went off rail with my comment. Here I am talking about her being half naked and you come in with the head thing again. And you keep pushing the subject over and over even though I clearly don't care about any of it.

Nothing. If she had tiny breasts and a tiny ass her head would still be stupid because of how tall she is. Stop being dense

the main problem is she is so tall. if she was normal height of a woman, it wouldnt stick out as bad, but as is her legs and torso are stretched which makes her head look smaller.

It's like talking to Final Blade, only there's no fanboy in there, just complete and utter dense stupidity.

          Euphoric Nov 5, 09
Read Miss Razz's post above this. See where she mentions the devs trying to pass the character off as representative of the perfect woman. There's your comparison to real people. That's the problem and why people are making a big deal about it. How being able to understand that makes a person dense or ignorant is a little beyond me. It's a pretty simple concept that you two have convoluted and confused beyond recognition.
