Game Informer have managed to get their hands on a bunch of concept art for the recently announced Transformers: War for Cybertron. The pictures show off some of the locations, Optimus Prime, Megatron and...Soundwave!

That beautiful image you see above is the Autobot city of Iacon falling apart in the midst of a devastating Decepticon attack. One of High Moon Studios core goals with Transformers: War For Cybertron is to turn the Transformers home planet of Cybertron into a compelling setting that gamers care about. With that in mind, they've shared a whole bunch of concept art (as well as some character art of the titular robots in disguise). Check it out below and let us know what you think!

It's some amazing artwork but I'm gonna have to pass on the game unfortunately. I've just never liked cartoon -> game or movie -> game creations. Probably mostly because they're personalities are pre-mapped so you are following a story rather then some form of customization.

I think this game would be a billion times better if you created your own transformer and fought with or against the autobots rather then playing a pre-designed toon.

    Holy crap Soundwave looks SWEET.

The characters are what makes the Transformers.Personally I wouldn't want to play a created Transformer instead of a pre-existing one.

Besides how many games DO let you create your own character? Not a lot.

If this turns out anything like Transformers on PS2 it will be SWEET.

Transformers on PS2 was a technical masterpiece. The graphics and draw distance was so awesome that I can't believe it was made on the PS2.

Yeah, the characters are definitely a major part of Transformers. Even though they're pretty simple in nature due to the target audience being kids and young teens, they still have plenty of familiar traits that people can relate to.

Either way, I'm really liking the direction they're taking this game in. Soundwave looks pretty badass and I hope the rest of the characters are just as sick.
