Unlike her videogame counterpart, this cosplay tones Mai’s “assets” down to more realistic proportions. There’s no denying that this model, with her “come-hither” look, will catch people’s attention, but it’s different than SNK’s jiggly counterpart.

Fighting games tend to have a bad rap when it comes to gender neutrality, with a roster usually consisting of a diverse bunch of guys and a single oversexualized female thrown in to balance things out. The King of Fighters’ Mai Shiranui is no exception to this rule (and the ESRB knows this), but one cosplayer has managed to transform her minimalistic costume into something more tasteful.
