Devil May Cry 4's recent release has naturally come with quite a few advertisements. But what sort of advertisement do you use to attract the general male audience to the series? Don't show any details or screenshots of the actual game - Oh no, that won't do it. Instead use sexy scantily-clad models dressed (barely) as Nero to promote DMC4, because that's never been done before.
But "Front" magazine believes that their tactic will get men interested.
Wonder what those men will think when they go to buy the game, only to realize the main character looks nothing like that?

Devil May Cry's always been a rather sexy series. Effeminate heroes, long red coats, exposed man-chests, you know how it goes. But a slutty series? No. Not until today, anyway. High-brow British men's lifestyle magazine Front has subbed Dante and Nero from the game's screens and replaced them with the demure, classily-named Vikki Blows. What will those marketing types think of next?

It's not like the game itself is short of them.

I'm not complaining. Like Ameer said, babes are a staple of the DMC series anyways.

The game is bland anyway. Doesn't hurt to add in some real T&A. But the chick doesn't even have any A.

I've played and owned every Devil May Cry, thanks. Learn how to fall back at least once in a while.

That might be true, but that absolutely still does not mean you know how to get the most out of the combat and how to really play the game.

In this case, when someone gets bored before "REALLY playing the game", it doesn't automatically give it amnesty or a second chance.

Actually SeekerX that was my point. I could easily see getting bored with DMC if you don't take the combat to the next level like Capcom intended you to do, hence why learning how to play it efficiently is key to not only success on the upper difficulties, but fun as well.

Well the point is that I KNOW I'm not bad at any of the games, but I haven't given any of them a second glance after I've finished them...only reason I played DMC2 twice was to get both Lucia's and Dante's endings...which were almost not worth the effort.

*bleep* that, Nero is badass. I own all the DMCs, got them all on their respective release dates. I was skeptical of Nero at first but after having completed DMC4 multiple times, there's no question, Nero is far superior to Dante in terms of sheer combat effectiveness and complexity. Sure Dante has a ton of different styles and weapons, but they should have refined these styles even more because Dante in comparison to Nero just feels like a mish mash of a bunch of stuff. Also, his combos are weak, not in power, just in the fact that they're so easy to pull off. I love Nero's combos, especially the ones where you have to press away and then towards your enemy real quick in mid-air. The devil bringer is badass too.

I plan on getting this game regardless, but since it's so short, I'll wait for a price drop.

Its not that short, its 20 missions, which is a good 16 hours.

    This isn't an advert.

It's a feature in a Monthly Mens magazine in the UK.

I knew it was the cover of a men's magazine, but if it's got the words "DMC4" and a picture of a half-naked lady there, then I'd consider it some form of advertisement. XP

Get over it. That's marketing for you, sex sells and that's the bottom line. Sure it's nothing new, but why change a formula that still works.

That's a really pretty girl. I'd probably buy the game if she delivered it to me.
I'm the kind of person who enjoys meeting new people.
