You might be a little disappointed to hear that the four player co-op is sill undecided (there will be a co-op mode, just don't know about the four players) but here is some news about GoW 2 that might cheer you up. There will be bigger and better gameplay: new characters, more weapons, nastier enemies, bigger vehicles, and some very gory chainsaw duels. Also, because of the advancements in Unreal Engine 3, the visuals of GoW 2 will look awesome, expect a lot of blood and gore especially with the additional blood and bullet decals and advanced destructible environments. There will also be new weather effects and we will see fluid objects in this game as well! Take a look at the four new screenshots of GoW 2.

  • Bigger and better gameplay. “Gears of War 2″ builds upon the gameplay of the first title in every way. New characters, more weapons, nastier enemies, bigger vehicles and grander locales offer players more action, more emotion and more thrills. Next, every major aspect of the game has been refined to create heightened, more immersive experiences. Finally, the overall tone of “Gears of War 2″ is more badass - replete with new weapon-specific executions, chain saw duels and shocking boss fights.

  • Jaw-dropping visuals. “Gears of War 2″ raises the graphics bar for next-generation games through its breathtaking visual effects, which are made possible through advances in Unreal Engine 3. New visual effects in “Gears of War 2″ include ambient occlusion, dynamic shadows, improved character lighting, the ability to render hundreds of on-screen characters simultaneously, improved water physics, additional blood and bullet decals, advanced destructible environments, new weather effects, and the introduction of fluid objects. When combined with the sweeping vistas and evocative locales in the world of Sera.

  • Unparalleled Xbox LIVE competitive and co-op action. “Gears of War 2″ takes full advantage of the industry-leading Xbox LIVE service.

Hardly an update. 2 player co-op was the minium requirement but the weather will be cool.

Isn't an update, nor are those screens anything new.

But I guess Gamegrep has always been two weeks behind, meh.

You're blaming GameGrep? Funny, I thought this was from various sources...The info on this particular article is a day old. That's how it works. You can help bring it to us 'two weeks earlier' and on-time by submitting an article.

Anyways, yes, I'm well aware of this information, but not the screenshots.

I'm not blaming Gamegrep, no. I'm blaming people who post "news" and "information" about shit they know nothing about just to get higher on this stupid monthly leaderboard thing.

The article itself may be a day old, but the vast majority of the information in the article debuted alongside the trailer, which was released on May 9th and already has had numerous Gamegrep posts about the same topic.

Haha, you've got a point there, Cdemon.

This info was already given to us in the Cliffy B interview and the trailer a week or so ago. I suppose the update was for the screens from the trailer. :S This can possibly be seen as a duplicate, but meh, since regular members can now approve, I bet articles like the Gears 2 update a while back may be missed.

I never seen these screens before, or maybe I have I don't know. They are cool though. But who cares if they are not new. Just look at them and go.
