Still, fans love to see stuff like Lara Croft come to life, and mind you in those situations there were male models portraying male characters too (more rare but not unheard of).
Of course you also had the "it made no sense" booth babes dressed in t-shirts and shorts or weird jumper suits advertising stupid things, or trying to convince people to take surveys - these they could have done without. The LAST thing we need to do is try to bring back these booth babes not relevant to the games because they just fuel more of the anti-booth babe sentiment that got E3 in trouble in the first place.
