The Japanese actually care about 360 exclusives ? Apparently so.

Cruxis Mana | August 07, 2008 | Pictures | XBOX 360
With the XBOX360 not selling so well in Japan, it's strange to see queue's forming at the release of one of the 360's most under appreciated RPG's - Tales of Vesperia.

[Tales of Vesperia forum]
Check Hell, because we think it's official frozen over. That right there was the line at the Akihabara Yodobashi Camera earlier this morning for Xbox 360 exclusive Tales of Vesperia. It was over a hundred people — small potatoes for, say, a Poké launch, but shocking for an Xbox 360 title in Japan. The game and an Xbox 360 went on sale, and there was a stage event with the game's creative producer Yoshito Higuchi and producer Tsutomu Gouda, telling fans how that they created a beautiful looking Tales for the Xbox 360.

Probably is going to be on the top ten when the numbers come out next week for this week in Japan, around #2 or #4. Maybe some 360 and PS3 stream crossing?

I hope it does well in Japan since this is a title I'm really looking forward too... That is when it hits Europe in 2009...

Hope the Asian-English Region Free rumours are true.

Hell I'd buy a 360 just for Vesperia.

Couldn't blame you. I absolutely loved the demo, and if I had the money I'd pick this game up.

I love how some of them look like they're hiding their face from the camera.

    "I don't want my mates to know I've got a 360!!!!!!"

Don't they love RPGs in the first place?

Just because it is for a 360 doesn't mean anything...it was a game that interested them.

But that's the thing. Japan in general didn't like the first Xbox due to the console not having their kind of games. PS2 had all those RPGs and such, best library out there. Now the tides have turned with the next-gen consoles.

The 360 has more variety, more genres that do target the gamers there. Exclusive games are a major deciding factor when purchasing a console, to see how many and what appeals to you, so it's very important to mention that it's on the 360. What comes after exclusive rights is likely the controller, specs, and online capabilities.

I wonder how many people in Japan own Oblivion? I've never really been into J-RPGs, but I think anyone can enjoy a game like Oblivion.

Whats funny is those people in the line could be the entire 360 fanbase in Japan.

But it'll be interesting how ToV does in Japan.
